Discussion Questions

1. Identify a couple of incidents where you saw someone in need.
2. When do we choose to help someone in need?
3. What criteria might be used to determine whether people will help or not? They are basically asking, “Who qualifies to be our neighbors?”
4. From the parable of the Good Samaritan, how are Christians like the priest and the Levite?
5. Why do we choose not to help a person in need?
6. What motivated the Samaritan to help the injured man?
7. How did the Samaritan help the man in need?
8. Jesus did not answer the question that the religious leader asked, “Who is my neighbor?” Instead Jesus asked another question that is more important. What is it?
9. Identify some of the needy people that are around us.
10. Share some practical ways we can help these needy people.
